Nicole started her journey with Bikram Yoga on January 18th 2010, when a new year’s resolution lead her up the steps to a Bikram Yoga class at 6 in the morning. Having already committed to 5 classes a week for a month, there was no turning back from Bikram's torture chamber. Noticing results almost instantly, Nicole’s one-month introductory special turned into a membership and, soon after, a front desk position at the Bikram Yoga Langley studio.
She had been working at BYL for a couple months when one day a regular student passed through the door and Nicole noticed a number of positive changes on her - she had lost weight, was glowing with happiness, and was able to fall asleep with absolutely no pain in her neck or back. She thought to herself "I have the best job in the world, I get to witness miracles walk in and out of the door every single day" then she thought again "Wait, I have the second best job... The best job would be watching miracles happen right in front me, from the podium, as a teacher". 10 months later that landed Nicole at the 37th Bikram Yoga Teacher Training for the Spring 2011 session, alongside 430 other yogi's from 33 different countries around the world, the biggest Teacher Training yet! She completed the 9-week course on her 21st birthday, celebrating graduation and a milestone birthday; this was just the beginning of her teaching journey!
Nicole has witnessed this yoga change her own life, inside out, bones to skin, fingertips to toes, as well as members of her family, her friends, and all the new friends from the studios that have grown to be her extended yoga family.
Some favourite postures of Nicole’s are full locust and floor bow; she loves the beauty of the postures from the outside and the fulfillment of the backbends she feels on the inside. Her least favourite posture is triangle as she has more flexibility than strength. Triangle forces Nicole to use both at once and the balance between both is a challenge, exactly what she needs!
She encourages you to come take a class with herself, the sensational practitioners, and teachers at Bikram Yoga Langley! This yoga will change your life if you let it; all you have to do is believe. See you on the mat!
