NEW! Fusion Flow

This class is taught by:

Candice Lim Hing

Candice discovered yoga while traveling in India, where she practiced daily on the beach. Upon returning to Canada, she wanted to keep practicing yoga and a friend introduced her to Bikram Yoga. She fell in love at first practice with Bikram Yoga! Candice is always expanding her knowledge and finding ways to share all the benefits of yoga with others. She attended Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Los Angeles in 2004 and since then has continued to expand her training while running three yoga studios. She has completed other teacher training courses such as Bikram Advanced Workshop in Hawaii in 2006, Kids Yoga Training in Vancouver in 2012, Synergy Yoga Teacher Training with Francisco Morales in Peru in 2012, Ghosh Lineage Master Core Advanced Teacher Training with Tony Sanchez in Mexico in 2013, Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Bernie Clark in Vancouver in 2014, Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Seane Corn in Vancouver in 2015, and Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Eddie Modestini and Nicki Doane. She has also taken various other workshops with renowned teachers like Mary Jarvis, Esak Garcia, Kino Macgregor and Ray Long.

After teaching in different studios in the Lower Mainland, Candice opened the Langley studio in 2007 to bring this therapeutic yoga to a new community. She opened the Maple Ridge studio in 2012 and the Surrey studio in 2013 with her mom, Mary.

Candice loves interacting with all students and is very grateful for the opportunity to share yoga in all communities.  She enjoys getting to know everyone so make sure to say hi and introduce yourself!

Candice’s classes are all about balance. She has a strong focus on alignment and discipline. She pushes her students to do their best but is also very encouraging. Her discipline will keep you working hard in class and seeing the benefits afterwards. Candice’s yoga tips are: breathe and have fun everything else is optional, everyday is different so let go of your expectations and judgements, experiment and get to know yourself physically, mentally and spiritually.

Lynn Masuhara

After knee surgery, and one year of diligent physiotherapy, Lynn could not sit cross-legged comfortably and her mobility was compromised. Her physiotherapist said she was just going to have to get used to it!

A dear friend suggested she try Bikram yoga. Lynn remembers her first class vividly! After about 30 minutes, she just happened to look in the direction of the door and her teacher exclaimed “don’t even think about leaving the room!” There were many students in the room, how did she KNOW? So Lynn stayed in the room. Several weeks later, she noticed she could sit cross-legged comfortably! Over time other improvements were noted too: improved posture, better sleep, less stress. She soon realized this Bikram yoga was a REALLY good thing!

After 2 ½ years of practice, she decided to go to the teacher training in Spring 2012 so she could help others obtain the amazing benefits too. She enjoys seeing new students get excited about this yoga and gets inspired by the determination of the regular students. Her most important tip to new students would be: BREATHE! Don’t forget to breathe…..it’s your best “friend” in that room!

Favorite postures include the Spine Strengthening series; these postures have been instrumental in healing and strengthening her back. She remembers not being able to lift both legs up in Locust. Now she can! She still has a long way to go with several postures eg. Standing Separate Leg Head to Knee. But with determination, she hopes to slowly improve.

Outside of yoga, Lynn enjoys cycling, gardening, and is slowly getting back to her original exercise….running, thanks to yoga!

Namaste!

Marie Baldwin

Five months after she had first heard about Bikram yoga from her daughter’s dance teacher, Marie decied to try this “crazy hippy from Vancouver” stuff. “I found myself settling in at Bikram Yoga Maple Ridge, and I knew I needed to make this yoga part of my life and wanted to share it with everyone.” Marie credits all the work of her family from Newfoundland for enabling her to go to the Bikram training in Spring 2013. “I had been a stay at home Mom for over ten years to two very busy children who combined have 20+hours of activities a week. It was hard to relinquish control of our hectic life, but I had to trust the process and learn to leave it outside the bubble. This is something I still struggle with today.” Marie urges all students to take each 90 minute class as time for themselves, leaving their hectic lives behind. “Coming into my class you are not only getting a certified Bikram Yoga teacher, but you are getting me: a high energy, fun-loving Mom and friend who will always be your biggest cheerleader and will stop at nothing to make sure you are working to your full potential."
Combination of all the classes we offer: Bikram, Core, Vinyasa, Yin and PyroPilates.  60 Minute Class.  Class is warm.  All levels welcome.
